Arranged and directed with the dreamlike loveliness of a Gondry movie, the “Cog Commercial” is a forgotten classic. Click to watch an elaborate dance of parts assemble themselves into a whole, all with a grace that you have hardly ever seen while waking.
This isn’t the kind of tightrope walking we see down at the fair in Puyallup. Nissan has an outstanding talent when it comes to bringing art to advertising…if we do say so ourselves!Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Classic 2006 Honda Accord Commercial (VIDEO)
96 Nissan Altima Defines An Era
You can check out this “clean cut, old school” rap here.
The Nissan Altima was so popular during the 90s—and so inexpensive for the value it provided—that it was the basic model for many a custom car. As the description of QuESt’s work says, “this was the kind of music you listen to while bumping in your 96 Nissan Altima.” Kind of makes you want to look over some used cars around Seattle. Used Nissan Altimas are a good choice whatever your taste in music.
Of course, you can and should listen to whatever strikes your fancy when you’re in your Nissan. What plays during a night out in Seattle isn’t necessarily what you’ll be listening to on the drive back to Puyallup. Nissan had the sound system to do it justice though, so once you’ve downloaded the MP3 of QuEST’s dedication album, you can put it right on one of the digital players available here.
2009 Nissan GTR Inspires 2012 Dodge Viper
After all, it was only a little while ago that the Nissan GT-R took the auto-world by the throat when it won Motor Trend Car of the Year for 2009.
Here’s the Motor Trend Car of the Year video of that honor and the car that inspired it.
GT-R won it for providing a terrific array of basic luxury, housed in a sports car body and priced at the kind of value Nissan is known for. GT-R proved that you didn’t have to break the bank to get a high-class sports car, and that automakers don’t have to cut corners—like with the bare-boned and noisy Viper—in order to deliver value.
So, congratulations, baby Viper, from your godfather, Nissan. Puyallup car buyers will surely see a few models heading their way soon. Though not as many, we suspect, as they’ll see of the used 2009 Nissan GT-R. A search of Bremerton used car dealerships could turn up a few.

Infiniti Focus on Luxury
Automotive luxury in the 21stcentury goes well beyond leather seats and automatic climate control. Infiniti is no different. Naturally, the brand’s vehicles include such technologies as brake assist and traction control. In the past few years, however, the company has brought several unique ideas to market. Learn which models feature these by visiting Learn which models feature these by visiting Boston Infiniti QX or Infiniti QX Massachusetts.
Among the high tech driver aids available on some Infiniti models are the company’s Lane Departure Warning/Lane Departure Prevention systems. As the name implies, the Lane Departure system alerts the driver using an audible signal when the car is drifting over out its lane by using sensors that recognize the lines on the road. Lane Departure Prevention takes the idea a step further and nudges the steering wheel to keep the vehicle between the lines.
Driving in rush hour traffic’s changing conditions poses certain challenges. Maintaining the right distance is one of them. Infiniti has an option for that: Distance Control Assist. Using a sophisticated sensor in the front bumper, the system adjusts the throttle or applies the brakes to mind the gap.
A related technology is Intelligent Cruise Control, which maintains the distance to the car in front based on a setting made by the driver. If the car in front slows down, the system steps in and uses a combination of throttle control, light braking and transmission downshifting to adjust. If the car in front speeds up or changes lanes, the system gets you back to the preset speed. If the car in front of you slows abruptly it’s still up to you to apply the brakes to avoid a collision. Some of this technology is beginning to show up in the pre-owned market at Bremerton used cars dealer.
Keeping track of objects around your car when pulling out of the driveway or backing out of a parking space can be difficult. You don’t want to run over that toy, or worse, broken glass. Or hit the concrete island when maneuvering up to the last pump at a busy gasoline station. That brings us to one of the more interesting techno bits from Infiniti: the Around View Monitor. Using four cameras, it provides a nearly 360° view of objects around the vehicle and displays it on a dashboard screen. The view is a little like a fun-house mirror because the cameras cover a very wide angle of view, but let’s you see what’s close to your car in a way that turning your head can’t.

Ford Fusion High MPG
In fact, it looks like Sumner auto dealerships selling Hondas are not the only dealers these days to be on the cutting edge of improving gas mile and using fuel-saving functions in its models. Though the Ford Fusion has no plans to increase fuel economy this year on the models that it offers Ford already gets to boast a tie with Honda on the current states of its model on estimated mpg for highway driving.
Interestingly enough, the 2010 Ford Fusion is currently tied with the 2011 Accord at 34 mpg on the highway. This is a remarkable development, considering that Honda Accord engineers improved the car's aerodynamics, reduced engine friction and changed the top gear in the 2011 Accord automatic transmission to boost highway mileage from 31 to 34 mpg. The fact that the Ford focus didn’t have to make any changes to be able to tie throws numbers speaks highly of the sophisticated gas economy measures that the model already has in place. Whether accustomed to shopping at a Puyallup auto dealership or Fife used car dealer, this model is worth your time visit an auto dealer.
When considered with the fuel economy of other Ford Makes and Models like the F-150, the Ford Fusion becomes even more impressive and a great deal of that can be attributed to the 4 cylinder engine. The Ford Fusion recently received a best-in-class rating from the EPA for the 23 mpg city mileage and 34 mpg highway mileage they received in 2010 for the new 2.5L four banger and the 6F35 6-speed automatic engine. Both the Hybrid model and standard Ford Fusion are dependable vehicles offering great value and for Washington shoppers looking for even more value should consider shopping for a used Fusion.
